Landfill gas is comprised of approximately 50% methane (CH4) and approximately 50% carbon dioxide (CO2), plus a small amount of organic compounds and a lot of impurities. Methane is the primary component of natural gas and can be converted to methanol. This conversion does not happen naturally and must be forced by a catalyst under pressure and temperature treatment.
